UNITEN GENERATES PROFESSIONAL
University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Putrajaya campus offer many types of programs such as Undergraduates Programmes, Diploma Programmes, and Foundation. In this post I will talk about one of the Undergraduates Programmes which is Bachelor of Information Technology (Graphics & Multimedia)(Hons).
The College of Information Technology has designed a comprehensive and innovative information technology programme to meet the needs of the IT industry as well as the manufacturing and engineering sectors. Students who fullfill the academic requirements of the programme will receive the Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons)(Graphics & Multimedia) degree.

Vision
To be a premier department in graphics and multimedia professionals.
Mission
We are committed to delivering cutting-edge technologies in graphics and multimedia through teaching, research and consultancy.
Objective
1. To
produce graduates with outstanding technical and authoring skills in the
production of multimedia applications.
2. To
deliver a solid understanding of the hardware and software aspects of digital
image editing and manipulation, together with video editing and distribution,
capturing, storing and manipulating sound and images in a digital form and
selecting media.
3. To
enable students to gain exposure to various design methodologies used in
designing and modeling and use a range of multimedia creative tools to develop
multimedia applications and present them effectively.
4. To
ensure students are well acquainted with graphics, animation, and computer
vision
5. To
inspire students to excel in the field of computer modeling and to encourage
improvisations and channeling of opinions in graphics and multimedia through a
creative and unique thinking process.
Now, the Department of Graphics and Multimedia offers full-time
undergraduate programmes leading to the award of Bachelor of Information
Technology (Graphics and Multimedia)(Hons). Here are some of the main idea on how programme works:
Overview
1. Students
will gain knowledge of industry-standard software packages for developing
multimedia applications.
2. The
course will give students the necessary practical skills needed to develop
computer interfaces, and provides a sound knowledge of the technology used to
deliver multimedia applications.
3. The
course encourages students to engage with design for interface, design for
interaction, design for information and other specialist issues relating to
interactive multimedia.
4. Year
1 introduces the underlying Principles of programming, explores Web
programming, Effective drawing, Multimedia technologies, Computer modeling and
creativity and Advanced Programming.
5. During
the 2nd year, and in addition to core Information Technology modules, the study
will concentrate on Discrete structures. Human Computer Interaction,
Introduction to Computer Graphics, Multimedia System & design, and Virtual
Reality following an industrial placement (Special semester).
6. In
the 3rd year (Final Year), and in addition to core Information Technology
modules, the study will concentrate on Artificial Intelligence, Operating
systems concepts & Image Processing & computer vision.
7. In
addition to the above students may take an in-depth look at aspects of Game
Design, Computer-Based Training & Development, Computer Animation,
Simulation and Audio & Video Technology as elective subjects. Students will
also undertake an individual project investigating an application of graphics
or multimedia technology.
8. The
combination of all the modules above will help students gain a solid
understanding of the hardware and software aspects of capturing, storing and
manipulating sound and images in a digital form. Students will explore the
techniques involved in producing their own creative digital media. Digital
image editing and manipulation, together with video editing and distribution
are also examined.
